Atlas Light

Atlas Light is a simpler, user friendly version of the Australian Business Atlas to research and analyse businesses and their activity for any geographic location in Australia.

Whereas the Australian Business Atlas offers sophisticated mapping and analytical tools, Atlas Light has more limited GIS functionality providing ease of use and reduced deployment cost to assist clients to get better use from their data resources.

Delivered as a web-based user log in, it can be used to provide:

• Simplified Google business mapping and heat maps of business locations
• Business data analysis by industry type, description and location (based on 4 digit ANZSIC codes down to specific suburbs)
• Local area demand for good and services (down to suburb level).

It uses consolidated data from the Australian Business Register (ABR) as well as Bugseye's own database of Australian businesses with information able to be exported into Excel, Word or PowerPoint formats with graphics and maps suitable to be re-used in other applications.

Data cleansing

We also provide a data cleansing service to help Government clients that have entered into an agreement with the Registrar of the Australian Business Register to access business number details from the ABR.

We have extensive experience working with ABR data to carry out a range of functions including data cleansing, preparation and enhancement to help government make better use of ABR data.

Our preparation processes overcome several major challenges with using ABR data including identification of active businesses and multi-location businesses, address consistency and accurate geocoding and tagging specified geographic areas, including local government areas, State and Federal electorates etc.

Our services provide:

• Geocoding of business addresses to enable mapping and analysis
• Conversion from ABR business classification codes into ANZSIC codes used by the ABS
• Creation of an ANZSIC classification tree
• Removal of dead records
• Cleaning and unifying data address fields
• Identifying missing data fields.

As part of the service, we augment the ABR data with Bugseye data, which identifies multi-location businesses (e.g. supermarkets) and includes enhanced contact details.

Data cleansing services cost $1990 (ex GST) plus a sliding cost per record depending on quantity. An Atlas Light deployment costs an additional $1990 (ex GST).
